Banting Memorial High School's Senior Art Show will be held at The Gibson Centre from during the month of February.

Join us on January 14th, 2022 for Departure's opening reception. This will give you a chance to meet the artists and learn more about their artwork.

Artist Statement:

As we near the end of our years at Banting Memorial High School, we think it is important to embrace this last opportunity we have as a group to share our unique perspectives and what we have learned over the past four years. Our work is unique to us and our individual journeys, but has been shaped by some common experiences. The final two years of our high school careers have been marked by change - to our schedules, our day today lives, and our routines, which has greatly influenced the way we learn and create. Rather than look at these experiences as a barrier, we are focusing on how we can learn from each other to fill in the gaps and continue to grow. And while we will soon be saying goodbye to high school and this part of our journey, for us, departure is not a goodbye. It is the beginning of a second chapter of our lives, leaving childhood behind and preparing to become our own people. With this show, we hope to share our experiences and our individual stories of how we got here as we prepare to depart.
