School of the Arts - TOTA 2020

Taste of the Arts 2020

Taste of the Arts (aka TOTA) is a free community arts event for children Grades 1 - 8.

Bring the kids to Taste of the Arts on Saturday January 18th at the Gibson Centre in Alliston!

This year we are expanding and offering FREE arts classes at the TNT School of Martial Arts as well - we are so excited to be working with Josh at TNT and to expand this free arts initiative for our community. Don't worry - you can still try it all! Here's how...

START/END TIMES and PLACES for Grades 1-4

Starting at The Gibson Centre @ 10:00am. Activities will begin right at 10am, so please try to drop off between 9:15am and 9:30am so that you have time to sign your children in at the registration desk. Registration will be located on the lower level, so once you enter the building, please proceed down the stairs or elevator to the bottom floor for check in.

Pick up will be at TNT School of Martial Arts @ 2:00pm. Activities will be done at that time and you will be able to sign your children out in the front lobby.

START/END TIMES and PLACES for Grades 5-8

Starting at TNT School of Martial Arts @ 10:00am. Activities will begin right at 10am, so please try to drop off between 9:15am and 9:30a, so that you have time to sign your children in at the registration desk in the lobby.

Pick up will be at The Gibson Centre @ 3:30pm. Activities will be done at that time and you will be able to sign your children out on the lower level, so once you enter the building, please proceed down the stairs or elevator to the bottom floor for check out.

In order to skip the line and know the exact start and end time for your child's visit with us, contact Heather@gibsoncentre.com to pre-register. We will still accept walk-ins the day of the event, but by registering you ensure your child's placement and time slot - making it easier to plan your day! Pre-registering is also a great way to ensure that your child will have time to try all of the activities being offered. It takes 2hrs and 20min to rotate through all the activities at The Gibson Centre, and another hour of activities are offered at TNT Martial Arts studio. For a detailed explanation of the day and for shorter day options, please contact Heather@gibsoncentre.com

Participants will be guided from activity to activity by our staff and volunteer team. There will be space for parents to wait at The Gibson Centre ONLY by our check in on the lower level. Parents will be asked to wait in our comfortable waiting area where coffee, tea and some snacks will be for sale. You are encouraged to drop your children off and pick them up when they are done if you are comfortable doing so, but you must sign them in AND pick them up with a signature.

We have a wonderful group of volunteers who will safely walk participants from one location to the other. If you would like to be a parent volunteer - please contact Heather@gibsoncentre.com as we are always happy to have extra help!

We are so looking forward to having our participants enjoy their time with us. Please remember that this event is for children grades 1-8 and children younger than 6 years will be too young and unable to enjoy the activities prepared. Children must be comfortable participating without the presence of their parents as we simply do not have room for that many people to be moving throughout the building at the same time.
