School of the Arts - Courses - Fall 8 Week 2017 - In The Kitchen (Grades 1-4)

Every child should have the opportunity to get into the kitchen and cook. Cooking is a valuable life skill that sets us up for healthy eating habits and helps to foster their creativity. This class is all about letting kids taste, smell and explore ingredients. Often in a safe, new environment even the pickiest of eaters will explore and try new foods.

Students will be shown fundamental cooking techniques, learn kitchen terms and all about safety in the kitchen. This is a hands on, FUN experience!

This is a class for students in Grades 1-4.

Cost: $180.00 for the 8 week course.

**Please note, no cooking experience required. A safety waiver, additional to our required medical form, needs to be signed before students attend this class and full disclosure of all food allergies is of the utmost importance.**

**Please note that there will be no class Wednesday March 14th for March Break**

All students participating in this class will be able to showcase their work at our GSOTA GALA on Friday April 6th 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. All winter class students will present their work in an exciting GALA that will utilize multiple areas of our beautiful Gibson Centre. Details for the students' performance expectations and times will be sent home in a confirmation document at the beginning of the course.
